praying for missions {week 2}

Ephesians 6:18b-20
To that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints, 19 and also for me, that words may be given to me in opening my mouth boldly to proclaim the mystery of the gospel, 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains, that I may declare it boldly, as I ought to speak.

After instructing the Ephesians on putting on the full armor of God, Paul tells them to keep alert with perseverance and to pray for all the saints and himself, that he may proclaim the gospel boldly.

We are currently working with orphans and widows, helping kids get an education so that they have a chance for a better future. You may not immediately think of evangelism when you are praying for us. But how could call ourselves followers of Jesus Christ if we were not proclaiming the gospel? Bearing witness to what he has done for us is a key part of our walk with Christ and our vision statement. We pray that we may do so boldly, as we should.

(The A through F method of praying for missionaries is taught in Disciple's Prayer Life: Walking in Fellowship with God, by T.W. Hunt and Catherine Walker.)
