praying for missions {week 37}

We've made it though a long list of ways to pray. The rest of the year is going to be a bit scattered, but never fear! I have it all planned out. Today I was just planning to list some verses to encourage and energize us in our our prayers, but I have decided to also include some very specific prayer requests at the end.

Proverbs 15:29
The Lord is far from the wicked, but he hears the prayer of the righteous.

Jeremiah 29:12
Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you.

John 17:20
“I do not ask for these only, but also for those who will believe in me through their word,

Philippians 4:6-7
6 do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Colossians 1:10-12
10 so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God. 11 May you be strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy, 12 giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in light.

Now the specific request, with a long introduction:

We are very aware of the fact that the wrong kind of help can be harmful. Thus, we are always evaluating whether the help we are giving our MKKs is the best kind of help for each individual. Are they thriving? Are they doing better than they were before we came along? Have problems come up? Are the problems things we should address or do they indicate that what we are doing is completely wrong for these kids?

Because of a trend of increasing bad behavior, entitlement attitudes, and a complete lack of concern for their own grades since we started sponsoring them, we are considering very seriously whether what we're doing is truly best for some of our MKKs. These were doing better in school and were in better standing with their school's principals before we came along.

(Let me also add that many of the MKKs take their sponsorship and education very seriously, and they continue to do well in school.)

We know God gives wisdom to him who asks, thus we are praying for wisdom, prayer warriors.
