praying for missions {week 39}

With Orphan Sunday coming up on November 2, we are launching 40 Days of Prayer for Maisha Kamili. The booklet will be distributed in churches on November 2, but we ask those of you who keep up with us online to pray through it with us in preparation.

These will be posted daily on our Facebook page. You can also download the full prayer guide on our tools page, to print and share with your church or for your own use. For those who keep up best through the blog, the prayer guide will be posted here, too, one week at a time.

Psalm 105:4-5
“Look to the lord and his strength; seek his face always. Remember the wonders he has done, his miracles and the judgments he pronounced.”
Praise God for the finished work that our God and King has done. Look to the futures as God’s promises are for all. Pray that our hearts and God’s heart will be aligned for the vulnerable children.

September 25
Acts 1:8
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witness in Jerusalem, and in Judah and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
Pray that many lost and lonely children who currently do not know God or think that he is far away will come to know Him and will find out that God seeks them in an intimate and personal way.

September 26
Joshua 24:15
”…but for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.”
Pray the children’s lives to be transformed and for their future generations to be productive and filled with hope.

September 27
Psalm 142:5-7
“I cry to you Lord; I say, “You are my refuge, my portion in the land of the living.” Listen to my cry, for I am in desperate need; rescue me from those who pursue me, for they are too strong for me.”
I pray to you Father, for your blessings on my brothers and sisters. Bless those living in poverty, despair and hopelessness. Give them strength and your word so they can know you.

September 28
Galatians 6:2
“Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.“
When you comfort those around you that are weaker either physically or spiritually it shows Christ like qualities. We pray that the results will be a stronger and wider community of believers.

September 29
Proverbs 12:14
“From the fruit of their lips people are filled with good things, and the work of their hands bring them reward.”
Heavenly Father, bless each of the children as they step into their school. Give them confidence, strength, and the assurance that your spirit will guide and provide them peace of mind.

Matthew 7:7-8
“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and he who knocks, the door will be open.”
The best place to start helping the homeless and hurting children is on our knees praying to or Father God. Consistent and persistent prayer will bring powerful change if we don’t give up.
