praying for missions {week 40}

October 1
Ephesians 2:13
“But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near through the blood of Christ.”
Pray that children that do not know Christ and have never heard of Him, will have the opportunity to feel God’s love and seek a personal connection with him.

October 2
Isaiah 28:16
“So this is what the sovereign Lord says: See I lay a stone in Zion, attested stone, a precious cornerstone for a sure foundation; the one who trusts will never be dismayed.”
Dear Lord, with your help let us build a future for these hopeless children. Thank you for fulfilling your promises when we show our faithfulness. We can count on you to always provide for us your love.

October 3
John 17:15
“My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one.”
If Jesus prays to his Father to protect his disciples from evil then we must pray to Him to do the same and to prepare the children for the future. Pray that the children are encouraged and transformed from cycles of poverty and hopelessness to bright futures for themselves and generations to come.

October 4
Romans 12:2
“Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is –his good, pleasing and perfect will.”
Changes are taking place every day on the streets of Mombasa, Kenya. Some for the better and some for the worse. Pray that a child’s mind will be trans-formed today and given the chance to be renewed and enlightened by the Spirit of the Living God.

October 5
1 Thessalonians 1:3
“We continually remember before our God and Father your work performed by faith, your labor prompted by love and our endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.”
Faith, hope and love are a triad put in action by the work of Jesus Christ and his disciples. This work is kept in action by the entire staff of Maisha Kamili; from the leaders to the staff, the neighbors and supporters. Thank you Jesus, for creating more disciples, to give hope to our children.

October 6
Psalms 68:5-6
“A father to the fatherless, a defenders of widows, is God in his holy dwelling. God sets the lonely in families, he leads forth the prisoners with singing; but the rebellious live in a sun-scathed land.”
Thank our Father in heaven for being the almighty parent that he is. Thank him for leading all of us away from our past and into his future with him. Be joyful and careful as we commit ourselves to helping these children to a stable life.

October 7
Psalms 119:9-11
“How can a young man keep his way pure? By living according to your word. I seek you with all my heart; do not let me stray from your commands. I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.”
Caring for children with food and shelter is the beginning but the lasting wisdom that these kids will get comes from the teachings they receive from the bible. Pray that the children will become faithful to your word.
