praying for missions {week 43}

Proverbs 22:6
‘Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.’
Dear Father, thank you for the blessings that you have given to the teachers, the parents and the Maisha Kamili staff as they are dedicated to educating the children of coastal Kenya. Prepare them to be disciples of your son as they study his ways and your words.

Romans 5:5
‘And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.’
Hope is not just optimistic but it is assured to us through the blessings of God’s love for us and the gift of the Holy Spirit. Christ’s death and resurrection are demonstrations of hope personified. Thank you Almighty Father for giving us hope, through your son.

Deuteronomy 10: 19-21
‘And you are to love those who are foreigners, for you yourselves were foreigners in Egypt. Fear the Lord your God and serve him. Hold fast to him and take your oaths in his name. He is the one you praise; he is your God, who performed for you those great and awesome wonders you saw with your own eyes.’
These are the words describing God’s desires after Moses came down the mountain for the second time with the tablets. Thank you Lord, for your love and forgiveness. Help us to give to others as you have given to us.

John 3:16
‘For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.’
There are many, many children in the streets of Mombasa and around the world that do not know Christ. But Jesus is bigger than any assembly yet he is small enough to fill every heart.

October 26
Psalm 51:17
‘My sacrifice, O God, is a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart you, God, will not despise.’
There are many broken hearts and minds when a child is fatherless. But when they are broken and come in real helplessness to their heavenly Father, he will meet them. Thank you Lord, for your open arms.

Mark 5:36
Overhearing what they said, Jesus told him, “Don’t be afraid; just believe.”
Smith Wigglesworth once said “God is more eager to answer than we are to ask.” If we try to make things happen, it can go wrong. If God makes it happen, it is always right. Believe what God tells us; only believe.

Psalm 139: 11-12
‘If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me and the light become night around me,” even the darkness will not be dark to you; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to you.’
In darkness of night children feel abandoned and hopeless. Without intervention many will not know how precious they are to God and to us. Pray that God will comfort these children and will provide rescuers to bring them out of the darkness.
